Getting A Website As A Sex Worker

SWNGettingAWebsite

There will probably come a time when you’ll wonder whether it’s worth getting a website as a sex worker. We’re actually not sure that having your own website is all is cracked up to be to be honest. What, with all the faffing around getting it all set up and then you languish on page four or five for a year or two before you start nudging towards page three of Google where you sit, unseen for another couple of years and then eventually get to page two in the listings and get one call a month from it.

The thing with getting a website as a sex worker (or any job) is that you will struggle to get to page one in the search engines for your main keywords.

Such as:

Escort in Liverpool
Independent escort in Chelmsford

This is because there are so many websites that write those keywords in the text on their pages, meaning there is more competition to rank for those search terms.

You’ll have more of a chance of ranking higher for lesser used keywords that have fewer websites writing those keywords.

Such as:

Domination in Liverpool
Busty redhead in Chelmsford

And to rank for those keywords, you will need to do a bit of search engine optimization (SEO). For example, you would write those keywords into your text on the page/s. To be more precise, you would have the page name, title, an image on the page using the exact keywords you want to get found for. So you could have a page all about domination in Liverpool and use that keyword (domination in Liverpool) as the page title etc. You can start by doing a search for “simple and easy SEO for beginners“, but do prepared to be bamboozled with information. Don’t go buying any courses – there’s tons of free information out there.

Getting a website as a sex worker – and being found by customers – is also made that much harder because Google favours sites with many page views (called a low bounce rate), many links in, links out, repeat views from the same IP address, and the age of the website. Therefore, websites such as AdultWork, Viva Street etc appear at or near the top of page one of Google.

It’s a similar situation for Mr Plumber or Mr DIY man. Search for those trades in your area and you will see that Check A Trade, My Builder, Trust A Trader etc are the ones at the top of page one on Google – unless a local business has paid for an advert.

But you can get to page one. It will be difficult and take time and you have more of a chance if you cover a smaller area. Plus, you might think it’s worthwhile to have your own website that you can link to from sites such as AdultWork and Viva Street so that potential clients can read your blog etc (in the main, most men don’t bother, but a select clientele will be persuaded by your intelligence). Getting a website as a sex worker will be so much easier if you like writing though.

Blogging

There is a fantastic free no sign-up artificial intelligence (AI) website called Tiny Wow that will create blog posts for you. We find these AI writing tools deliver content that’s regimented – even if you use their “witty tone of voice” app. It doesn’t work for us on here but it can save bloggers so much time.

Which Host/Platform Do You Choose?

There are organizations that specifically host escort websites (we have a feeling that Google hate them because all the websites that are being hosted all have basically the same content), but they charge around £20 a month and they will charge a fortune to put the website together for you. There are other escort focused companies that offer free websites such as Free Escort Site but you’ll usually have to have adverts on it unless you upgrade, but if you just want to get a feel for having your own website for free, then Free Escort Site is easy to use and your free domain will be something like this: www.rebecca.freeescortsite.com.

To upgrade so you can have your own domain name and no adverts costs around £200 a year. For that you also get your own email address, free banner design and a few other things you can do yourself.

Free websites usually allow you to upgrade to a professional domain name but we have seen them charge way over the usual amount. Some even charge you around twenty pounds a month ongoing which is how they make their money. A domain name costs about a tenner for the YEAR, so don’t be fooled.

WordPress.org is the worlds most popular CMS (Content Management System) and is free. There is a learning curve but you don’t really need to know any code. You can install the Elementor drag and drop editor plugin which makes things easier. Install a free theme called OceanWP or Neve; it’s literally a click or two to install any theme. You can search for the themes in the backend of your website once you have got hosting. Don’t bother paying for one – just grab one of the many freebie themes available.

It all sounds a bit complicated and can be, but you can watch some YouTube videos and learn how to create a WordPress website that way.

Or if you haven’t the time or the inclination for WordPress and don’t fancy a website full of adverts and a bit of a naff domain name (or rip off pricing for your own domain name), try Wix or Squarespace as their interface is pretty easy. Ask about WHOIS Privacy. We also know of people who register their domain/website under a fake name and address but bear in mind, that could be a breach of contract – but then again, who’s going to know? Just make sure you add all your website text to a document sheet on your PC so you have it all ready to cut and paste onto another platform if need be.

If you are concerned about anonymity, you can pay for hosting with bitcoin or other methods. There is another easier (and totally legal) way to pay anonymously. Contact us if you would like to know – we will ask you to carry out an easy verification method so that we know you are a sex worker, and then give you the details.

What do we think about getting a website as a sex worker? We are 60% you should and 40% don’t bother. If time is your enemy and you hate writing, we wouldn’t bother. But if you are in sex work for the duration and have the patience to wait for your website to rank, love writing and are good at it, we say go for it or at least give it a try.
