Why Sex Workers Hate UK Punting And Similar Sites

Escort review websites: a dangerous addition to the list of things that sex workers need to remain vigilant against. Typically lorded over by incel type men who spur one another on to get as much bang for their buck, they encourage each other to treat the hiring of an escort to that of buying a washing machine at Curry’s.

They don’t realise, or choose to ignore the fact that usual consumer laws do not apply to having paid for sexual services. We have written about this before – an escort can advertise any sexual service they like but when it comes down to it, they can change their minds about anything and everything.

But some people on forums such as UK Punting think otherwise. They demand their “consumer rights” even if it causes harm to the sex workers they visit or communicate with.

In 2022 there was an incident where an escort nearly died after being stabbed by her then boyfriend after he read an identifying review of her on UK Punting.

Our heroine contacted escort directories to ask them to take her profile down, which they kindly did. But when she contacted UK Punting to ask the same, they couldn’t care less. Apparently they said no and told her to take them to court – and as far as we are aware, that’s just what she did or is trying to do.

(Can we please have more people doing this; we definitely need a legal fundraiser to take on these important cases.)

It seems those in charge at UK Punting aren’t bothered about someone being almost murdered. No means no as far as they are concerned – unless you take them to court that is, when the fear of losing the considerable amount of money they earn through site membership is at stake – then they’ll start scrambling, complying faster than you can say “cha-ching.”

Otherwise sex workers are just fair game to them.

From what we know, this legal saga is still unfolding, and UK Punting now seem to make half-hearted efforts to cover their arses by saying that no identifying information is allowed on their webshite.

But as the posts aren’t moderated before they go up, identifying information is still being posted (2023).

Sex workers are targeted by a large section of men who see them as an easy target for abuse and worse. Some police forces recognise this and treat crimes against sex workers as a hate crime.

No other forum would be allowed to exist to talk about a woman’s body parts, what area they lived in, and other private details, and just because a woman chooses to charge for sexual services with guys THEY choose to do it with, doesn’t mean they should be treated any differently. And actually, considering the hate of some men towards sex workers, escorts should be given total anonymity to protect them from the lowlifes that target them. Punters are anonymous, sex workers are not, so the playing field is hardly fair.

Review sites are all well and good – Trust Pilot is informative and can help people make the right purchasing choice – but there’s a big difference between reviewing inanimate objects and non-sexual services to reviewing a sex worker.

Anyone can post on UK Punting saying for example that a certain escort gave him bare back penetration – which could be an outright lie. But in the meantime, the escort’s profile will then attract some men to make appointments and who demand that particular service because they have “read all about you online”.

And it doesn’t matter if a sex worker has lots of good reviews on UK Punting, they still hate it – because for a start, many escorts don’t want to attract that crowd. And there’s always the chance that false or/and identifying information will pop up at some stage.

There’s also the general problem of posts on these forums, where boundless searches for the most vulnerable sex worker (she was obviously on drugs, she was drunk) meets questionable legality. For example where the punters, spurred on by the fuckwits with festering minds, decide to stop the service halfway through and demand their money back. Some men actually think it’s ok to shag a sex worker and then decide she isn’t up to their standards – their consumer rights are being abused, so demanding a full refund is their right. And if they don’t get it, some will use intimidation tactics to get what they want. After all, they have read about it on UK Punting so why the hell not.

We aren’t unsympathetic to those punters who take time out of their day to visit an escort only to be greeted by a bait and switch or by someone who advertises services that they don’t do. Remember though that some of these profiles are written by others for non UK National sex workers and the woman has no say whatsoever in how her profile is written.

It’s totally not fair that punters are ripped off this way, but the most the guys suffer is the loss of a few hours from their day and a feeling of disappointment.

Punters can limit their chances of this happening by confirming at the time of the booking that the services the escort has advertised are definitely included. And perhaps again when the punter arrives for the booking and before money has exchanged hands. Punters can also confirm beforehand that they can have the amount of time they are paying for. But even after the money has been paid, the sex worker can STILL change her mind. Often it’s a cleanliness issue. You cannot demand all of your money back when you are both naked and have handled each other. And no one can use threats or intimidation to get any money back either.

Yes, it’s annoying, but the good guys are not the type to get off on making a woman cower in the corner by brandishing their weight around like some we could mention. They have an attitude of “you win some, you lose some”. They just don’t go back.

And if they’re an outright scammer – sometimes they’re not actually sex workers at all. But whether they are or not, most sex workers don’t agree with those type of tactics anyway.

Some of the women visited by guys that post on UK Punting are possibly trafficked. If they’re young, foreign and just flown in, all the better. The women can’t speak English, are sometimes drunk or high on drugs, but none of that matters to them. And all of this information is available to read by the public – we dread to think what they are saying amongst themselves in private messaging.

There’s even a post by someone who said he knew of a woman who said she enjoyed being sexually abused by her father when she was a child – and the guy who posted this little snippet said the woman was telling the truth in his opinion – she definitely enjoyed herself! (Not to worry though. She’s dead now apparently.)

The mods allow this kind of disgusting talk and ban people who dare to be offended by it.

Let’s just hope they don’t have daughters themselves!

At the beginning of this page, we said that UK Punting are a dangerous addition to things that sex workers need to worry about. When you have a forum moderated by the likes of Davie Flasher Mac (surely a prime contender for the coveted Bully Boy Mod Of The Year, if such an accolade ever existed) and others who champion non-existent consumer rights when paying for intimate services – it sends the message that men can demand whatever they want.

Sex workers are targeted by a section of men who see them as easy prey, believing the women won’t go to the police to report a crime and that even if she did, the police wouldn’t be interested anyway. (This is not true by the way.)

They also have a hatred towards escorts because they have a problem with them charging for sex. They don’t agree with it and look at them as dirty little whores who must be punished. Their minds are also irritated by finding a woman attractive and knowing they have to hand over money to do what they want to do for free.

Most people think that the unrestricted reviewing of sex workers online is a messy legal grey area, but it’s really not.

The wise Mr Justice Warby has spoken! He has ruled that just because someone charges for sexual services, it doesn’t mean every single detail of their personal and professional life can be broadcasted without their consent.

For sex workers, dealing with the misfits the industry attracts – their safety and privacy is simply black and white.

You should have somewhere here where we can review the reviewers of ukp because it’s often easy enough to work out who they are.

While I appreciate the value of reviews to safeguard against deceitful practices, such as misleading photos, I think that the website itself is biased against women in general.

Is there a female sex worker version of UKpunting? i.e. women can provide more honest feedback of experiences with men who’ve booked via AW and possibly also link it to a profile on UKpunting. It only seems fair seeing as the guys are doing it already.

And what about when they come around and hint they are members of ukp hoping to get extras in return for a good review. i have had some nice punters from there but mostly they want to squeaze every last drop out of you. they are exhausting.they have been fined before for revealing details they shouldn’t have, and a lot on there Completely hate women.

I have a regular that posts on there and I’ve told him never to do a review about me. He actually sets his watch so it goes off at 50 minutes which I’ve never had anyone else do haha.

Bloody heck that is just so funny. I find most guys who read uk punting or who are members want the earth. I had one guy review me on there saying that we French kissed which I NEVER do. Such a lying fantasist.
